Feature Story

When Dow and BASF – the world’s two largest chemical companies – broke ground in Antwerp, Belgium in September, 2006, it represented the beginning of a new process to commercialize Hydrogen Peroxide Propylene Oxide (HPPO).

This innovative technology will help supply propylene oxide, an essential material used in insulation, bedding, refrigerators, paints, automotive foams and medicines. Not only will the plant meet the world’s need for an essential product – the environmentally-friendly process will set a new standard in manufacturing.
